Welcome back

As we always open our doors to volunteers and guests who would like to pay a visit in our School, this week we had a visitor from Canada (Youth Challenge International) as Team Leader who are in Zanzibar for Research of Challenges which face youths in their daily life.

Their visitation on Z.I.T aimed to see precisely what we're doing to the youths. The meeting is optimistically advantageous for both since we've discussed on the youths’ challenges and we hope of working together in the future.

They met with all of Z.I.T staffs, they got the chance to visit both Computer and English students and saw some works made by the students, and they were very excited seeing the amazing works presented by the students.

This was the time where the students worked on innovative design level , of cause they had a lot to share with the students.

The launching of Dream BIG Foundation

Last week, Z.i.T had an opportunity to attend on the launching of Dream BIG foundation in Zanzibar with the association with Young Future Academy (local NGO). We were invited as stakeholders of improving youth's development. 

We found that, there are many opportunities for Our Students for improving their personal life and bring the changing to the society through Dream BIG Foundation. 

It was a great pleasure to be their and getting invitation of attending the two days training of Leadership, marketing and Communication Skills. the training was held at Visitors Inn at Jambiani Village. both from Stone town and Villagers were invited to take part on that training including Z.i.T. Staffs and Students. Thanks Dream BIG Foundation together with Young Future Academy For bring the hope to the youths, we look forward to share so many staffs and be our training partner.     

Entrepreneurship Class

This week we had an opportunity of getting a volunteer teacher from EQWiP HUBS We choose them as our training partners, they were in our institute (Z.i.T) to train entrepreneurship, basically , we want them to apply this training to their skills (Graphics Design).

The teacher start to introduce him self and the students also, this will make them to know each other while the course is continue.

The class started 09:00 am on 13/6/2017 by asking the students some questions about entrepreneur and Business, to know if they had an idea about the topic, some of the students tried to answer the questions, after that he start to give them the introduction of Entrepreneurship, who is and how to be Entrepreneur?,

He continues to explain about the concept of Entrepreneur and advantage of it, also he tried to challenge the students by asking them what are the deference between Entrepreneur and Business man.

The students were happy with the class and they hope that they will learn a lot from the volunteer and will help them in the coming lesson.

Z.i.T Excursion

This week, as a part of our lessons, Z.I.T took an excursion to a People palace in Stone Town Zanzibar Island where our destination was Pwani Mchangani Village where there were so many activities like; running with sack, balloon bursting, Poems, Talent Show, Debate, Spelling killer etc.

When we arrived at 10:00am we were greeted by local Tour Guide where he told us the short history about People Museum “This is a large white building with castellated battlements situated on Mizingani Road, where the latter runs very close to the sea. Originally called the Sultan's Palace, it was built in the late 1890s for members of the sultan's family. From 1911, it was used as the Sultan of Zanzibar's official residence, but was renamed the People's Palace after the 1964 Revolution, when Sultan Jamshid was overthrown. It continued to be used as government offices until 1994 when the palace was turned into a museum dedicated to the history of the sultans of Zanzibar”.

After one hour we continued our excursion from Zanzibar town to Pwani Mchangani Village, though it is rainy season but the weather was so calm as it allowed us to do our activates. We first started with running with sack followed by balloon bursting and pulling the strings, what was funny women won against men in pull the strings, and in balloon the baby boy also won the game.

After all we started our main activities on the stage where we started with Speech which delivered by the founder of Z.i.T (Jaku Ali Vuai) then Poems, Drama, Spelling Killer and Debate, after all it was the time for our Guest of Honor (Head Master of Pwani Mchangani School) to deliver his speech,

Because there were so many things here we only give you one poem known as “I AM Z. i. T PLEASE LET ME GROW UP! which was played by Litham form Z.i.T.   

Why do you hate me so much?

I would real like to know,

I don’t think I can stand to put on this show.

I am Z. I. T please let me grow up!

It hurts me inside

And it makes you happy widely

But I don’t understand what you put me through

But all didn’t work out, as you can see the achievement

Preparation of Excursion!

So far So Good, On 13th of May Z.I.T is expect to have an excursion in Zanzibar Island at Pwani Mchangani Village, That means several activities will take place there like; Poems, Talent Show, Drama, Spelling killer and Debate, all of these will be performed by the Students From Z.I.T.
Also there will be also a informal activities like; competition of Drinking water, running with sack, balloon bursting and so much more;

Mo-rover, same day there will be a graduation for our Graphics Design where they will present their works that they have been doing during the course, find out the picture and video for all preparations.

Graphics Class is in Progress

So far so good, from 25^th of January until now the Graphics Class is in progress. For the first intake, we started the class with 7 students due to the lack of Computers. So far, they have done introduction of Photo Shop, Graphics Design Course and tools.    

The Students are capable of using adobe Photoshop for deigning graphics, and they yet designed amazing works using those tools. In this course students are expected finish the course after 4 months.   

This knowledge which provided by Z.I.T will help the graduates compete with the current era of science and technology especially in Graphics Industry. Here are some works that have been done during the course so far.
