Meet our Graphics Design graduates

Z.I.T has trained about 30 youths in faculty of Graphics Design so far, this course equips youth to gain the Graphics knowledge. this course taught for two months then students go to field-work for two months to gain an experience by learning practically for what they have learned in class during the four months.

After they finished the course (four months), the training coordinator has to find the company which can take our graduates as Graphics Designer. We proudly to present to you some of our graduates since the first class up to now.

Z.I.T Zanzibar to Dar-Es-Salaam

Last week, Z.I.T’s Graphics Design Student had wonderful chance to pay visit in Dar-Es-Salaam (mainland)  for further study about Graphics Industry in Tanzania for three days, and learn practically after learning theory in the class for the period of four months. It wasn't easy for parents to allow their children to go in Dar-Es-Salaam but we convince them as this studying tour may open the job opportunity to our students, by then thy allow us to go with their children.

 

It was a group with eight student and a trainer (Jaku) the trip started at 08: 00am from Z.I.T office to Zanzibar sea port at 09:25an the boat started leave Zanzibar Island to Dar-Es-Salaam for the tour. We arrived in          Dar-E-Salaam at 11:00 am we were greeted by our Guide Mohammed (Student)  where he told us the short schedule for our visiting, due to boring of travelling we had to take some rest and enjoy the lunch from local restaurant. By afternoon 02:30pm we started our first visiting to Shark Investment Company  it’s believed that it is one among the big Printing company in Main land. Our first Experience it was learning the printing process of Offset Machine where it can only print by using plate either two colors or full colors (CMYK). After two hours we close the day and go home for resting. 

The following day earlier in the morning we went to the same company at Mbagala where they build their workshop, we also experience how make 3D advertisement by using Engraving Machine after preparing your art-work on computer. After receiving good information from Our Guide Mr. Mswawalo (Machine Operator) we created the simply 3D advertisement which is read as “WELCOME @ CMYK DIGITAL PRINTING COMPANY” “we are so lucky to see how things are done by this machine” on of the student said. After long hours we thanked the Shark Investment Company Management and Staff for their big support and for our Students.

Finally we headed to Sam Digital Printing and experience the Large Format Printing Machine as they (students) also enjoy the print process of out door banner, pvc stickers and banners etc.

All students were so excited to learn and experience new things in Printing Industry. This tour help our         Students to expand the job opportunity in and outside the Zanzibar Island. We have booked the chance for our students so that after finishing the course they are

THE LAUNCHING FREE ENGLISH CLASS AND CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER DAY

05/12/2017 Zanzibar Information Technology launch the Project of #Free English Class at Forodhani Garden. Let’s go a bit back. Z.I.T intended to provide free training (Computer Applications, Graphics Design and English Language) for Zanzibar youths.

We couldn’t make it due to the lack of fund, so they had to pay ten thousand (10000/=) per month which the fewest number of youths were able to pay that amount. It wasn’t good for us since this was out of our goal (helping youth free training).

We thought that amount is higher according to the hardness of life. Z.I.T team came up with the new fees, twenty thousands (20000/=) for the duration of three months which is applies until now. We also find out that is still higher, some youth are not able to pay that amount.

Finally, we decided to come up with new Project which is named #Free English Class. this two years Project will enable youth to learn English Language without any payment. The launching of our new Project was held at Forodhani Garden, there were many activities such as; Dancing, Drama, Talent Show etc. The total Grant for this #Free English Class is 4205.80 USD  We hope to implement this Project on 1st of March 2018.   

On the other hand, we celebrated the International Volunteer day as we are part of volunteer.

Graphics Class is about to come to an end

So far so good, from 15^th of September until now the Graphics Class is in progress. For the third intake, we were able to start the class with 7 students due to the lack of Computers. So far, they have done all graphics tools; Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.    

The Students are capable of using All Graphics tools for deigning art-works, and they yet designed amazing works using those tools. In this course students are expected finish the course 15th of December 2017.   

This knowledge which provided by Z.I.T will help the graduates compete with the current era of science and technology especially in Graphics Design Industry. Here are some works that have been done during the course so far.

Debate Competition

Zanzibar Information Technology has set the Debate for making the student to able to present their paper in such a way that the students not only enjoy but also learn a great deal from it. With the same perspective in view, the school organised a debate competition for the students of Z.I.T and Fantastic Training Center where Fantastic were for the motion and Z.I.T were against motion. The topic of the debate was- ‘Money is the source of all evils’.

There were three speakers and two contributors from each team. The day was really hot as each team looked for the victory. The representatives spoke vehemently on the issue and came up with their perspective regarding the same. They cited reasons and supported them with suitable examples from real life, to justify their stand.

The judges for the day, Mr. Fantos. and Mr Modest were deeply engrossed in the ideas of the students, to the extent that they had to ask a tie breaker question in order to reach a concrete conclusion.

They adjudged the Z.I.T class as first and Fantastic as second with a difference of 5 points. Speaking on the occasion they praised the school Teacher and Training Coordinator for designing such innovative topics which are so socially relevant.

“I would like to Congratulate Z.I.T Students for the victory and of course you deserve it, also to Fantastic students for your participation as I always believe that, the loser of today is the winner of tomorrow thank you so much” said Mr. Fantos.
